What this site is

Adey Market is a search engine for Ethiopian sellers' public listings. It doesn't sell anything itself: every price, photo and link comes from the original listing.

Visitors

The searches you run (words and filters) are stored to show you the results. A visitor's searches are deleted after 7 days.

No advertising trackers are used.

Accounts

Signing in is handled by Clerk. We keep your email address, your role and what you save (saved searches, watchlist) until you delete them or your account.

Sellers' public listings

We read public listings: public Telegram channels, shop websites (respecting robots.txt and their terms), Instagram business accounts (Meta's Business Discovery), YouTube channels (YouTube Data API), and TikTok videos shops share or connect (below).

A listing is kept for up to 90 days from its posting date, then deleted. Each result links to the original. A seller can ask us to remove their listings at any time.

TikTok accounts that connect

When a shop connects its TikTok account, TikTok gives us, with the shop's permission: its TikTok ID and display name, and for its public videos their ID, caption, posting time, length and link.

We use these only to show the shop's videos in search results, played in TikTok's own player with a link to TikTok. We never post, read messages or see the password.

The access tokens are stored encrypted and used only to read the shop's new videos about once an hour. They are never shared or sold.

Disconnecting (in TikTok, or by asking us) stops the reading, revokes the token and deletes the shop's videos from the site.

Sharing

We don't sell personal data. Our hosting (Render) and sign-in (Clerk) providers process data only to run the site.
